Werribee, Australia: Outdoor 'Dive-In' Movies at the Werribee Olympic Pool, Australia

Outdoor It used to be drive-in movies that lured families to the big screen outdoors. This summer, though, it is the outdoor movies at Dive-In Movies at Werribee's Outdoor Olympic Pool. Outdoor movies will be screened at the pool throughout January, allowing residents to bring some food and a blanket to watch a movie on the lawn and the kids in the pool at the same time. Wyndham Council's place manager Craig Toussaint said the outdoor movies would entertain the whole family. Aside from being able to watch a movie under the stars, leading up to the movie there will be pool activities, ‘giant lawn games' and kids karaoke all for the regular pool admission price, Mr Toussaint said. People can arrive early and go for a swim, there will be a sausage sizzle, and popcorn and refreshments will be on sale at the pool kiosk. It's a great way to spend a summer evening close to home. The Dive-In Movies start from 5.30pm with the movie showing from 8.45pm to 10.30pm. Finding Nemo will be screened on Saturday 10 January 2009 and The Incredibles on Saturday 31 January. The cost of entry is the standard pool entry fee. The outdoor cinema screenings follow a recent extension to the boundary of the pool, landscaping works and a new fence.
