Top 25 Outdoor Movie: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, is a classic movie for the entire family and community, that will bring back old memories, and even create some new ones (for those who weren't around in the 80's. The triple Oscar winning film was directed by Stephen Spielberg, and when it was released, surpassed Star Wars as the most financially successful film up to that point (1982).

A Rotten Tomatoes survey even ranked the movie as the greatest science fiction film of all time! Awards aside, this is a truly spectacular movie, and is a great pick for your next outdoor movie event.

Set in California, the movie follows a young boy Elliot (Henry Thomas), who discovers E.T. after he was abandoned by his fellow alien botanists when they fled in the presence of government officials. Elliot famously lured E.T. back to his home with recees pieces, and helped him hide out with the aide of his little sister Gertie (the debut performance of Drew Barrymore). The film brilliantly shows the journey of discovery and adventure of Elliot and E.T., and is a classic film that the entire family will enjoy.
