Simi Valley, California: Free Outdoor Screenings of Ronald Reagan Films
"Wednesdays With President Reagan" shows Reagan's movies outdoors for free. Guests have the option of paying for dinners that includes Reagan's favorite foods.
The series will kick off Wednesday with "Knute Rockne All American." On Sept. 17 the film will be "Santa Fe Trail." On Sept. 24 "Hellcats of the Navy" will end the outdoor movie series.
The program is hosted by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.
The dinners will be served from about 6 p.m. through the end of the outdoor movie. A prix fixe menu will be served by a local restaurant with three separate three-course meals. A pass to the Reagan Library and jelly beans will be included with each meal.
Guests can choose meatloaf, macaroni and cheese with grilled shrimp, or sea bass with sweet pea puree.
Advance reservations are required for dinners, which range in prices from $32 to $36. Call 823-4756 for reservations.
The outdoor film screenings will be presented on a 24-foot inflatable movie screen in the outdoor plaza area between Red Fish and the Corner Bakery at the center, 1555 Simi Town Center Way.
