Shreveport, Louisiana: Outdoor Movies in Northwest Louisiana (2008 Season)

Movies & Moonbeams presents fun, age-appropriate cinema in public spaces throughout Northwest Louisiana.

In order to make attending the event possible for all area residents, admission to most events is free. Larger events (featuring giveaways, concessions, and more) are $1.00 admission.

Movie & Moonbeams main goal is to bring the magic of the movies to all areas of Shreveport/Bossier, including those where a family outing to the movies would not otherwise be possible.

Outdoor Cinema events planned for 2008, beginning January 4th with School of Rock starring Jack Black. The 2008 schedule includes a wider variety of film selections than ever before, as well as several unique screening locations, from golf courses (The Legend of Bagger Vance at Querbes Golf Course, Friday, April 18) to shopping malls (Big in the Kohl's Department Store parking lot, Friday, November 21).

Movies & Moonbeams is also proudly hosting first classic film, The Wizard of Oz (Friday, October 3) in addition to the regular offerings of animated and family-friendly fare. All 2008 Movies & Moonbeams Outdoor Cinema events will be presented free of charge, courtesy of Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation and The Robinson Film Center. As the variety of Movies & Moonbeams film programming grows, look for fun new additions to the pre-movie excitement.

Come early for School of Rock on Friday, January 4 and join in the fun as we play Guitar Hero 2 on the big screen, beginning at dark.
