Third Kyrgyz-French-German Open-Air Film Festival in Bishkek
The Kyrgyz Culture and Information Ministry, Embassies of Germany and France with the assistance of AsiaUniversalBank are getting ready for the third Kyrgyz-French-German open air film festival Bishkek-2009 to run on June 22-28, Charlotte Urbain-Karimova, AttachГ© for Cooperation and Culture of the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan informed the news agency 24.kg.
The aim of the outdoor movie festival is further development of cultural ties between the three countries. Open air cinema breaks threw all the bounds. We hope that this annual outdoor movie event will be another step towards exchange of experience and traditions of people, the attachГ© said and added that it was the first time the festival is held outdoors- at Ala-Too square.
The program of the open air film event is full of content. As national so foreign film directors will represent their works at the festival. A well-known French film producer, film critics from Germany and Kazakhstan were specially invited to the outdoor film festival for competent appraisal of works. Besides, it is a good opportunity for Kyrgyz film makers to show their works to foreign experts. Winners will be announced at the press conference after the outdoor films' presentation, Urbain-Karimova added.
